Putting the I in team: In-situ Interprofessional Education

Presented by The Risk Authority Stanford
Tuesday, October 9 - 4:30 p.m. | Room 201AB

In this session, an interprofessional team from a leading academic medical center will share their experiences in designing and implementing an in-situ simulation program. Attendees will gain insight into unique challenges such a program can entail as well as major successes a program can have for an organization. In collaboration with the hospital’s risk management group, we have had a sustaining program for the past 18 months. Attendees will garner inspiration and critical information needed to implement a similar program in their institution and discover how to calculate a ROI on such programs.

Learning Objectives:

  • Discuss the benefits of interprofessional in-situ simulation
  • Describe an example of the planning and execution of interprofessional in-situ simulation program
  • Examine institutional challenges and possible solutions in implementing an interprofessional in-situ simulation program
  • Understand the return on investment for a simulation program
  • Discuss outcomes from an interprofessional in-situ simulation program
